Lymph Africa Education is proud to present The Fundamentals of Lymphoedema Course.
This Post-Graduate continuing education course is a basic overview of 36-Hours of training (15 hours of online Theory and 21 hours of hands-on training) and has been developed to introduce healthcare practitioners to the best practice internationally for patients with Lymphoedema, Lipoedema, and Oedema conditions due to a variety of etiologies. The Training consists of thorough research-based information.
Walking away from this course, you will be able to:
- Understand and differentiate between lymphoedema, lipoedema, and oedema
- Identify treatment components of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) – Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), Bandaging, Exercise, Skin Care
- Introduction to manual lymphatic drainage techniques for patient education
- Demonstrate basic multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging by creating an effective, graduated compression system for arm and leg
- Identify and choose compression, accurately measure & complete order form for compression system or compression garment
- Provide basic patient and/or family home-care education for Donning and Doffing compression bandages and compression garments
Completing this course provides you with a certificate of completion in Fundamentals of Lymphoedema and Compression Therapy only.
This Course training is introductory information and does not certify you as a CLT – (Certified Lymphoedema Therapist).
